Jessie's Grove Winery
Jessie’s Grove Winery is nestled between the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in the Lodi appellation of California. Jessie, a natural environmentalist of the 1800’s, grew up on the 320-acre ranch that her father had purchased in the 1860’s. The ranch, oak grove and winery have since been named in her honor.
Jessie’s Grove Winery specializes in the delicious, hearty Zinfandel for which Lodi has become famous. The vines flourish in the rich soil, and some of the original Zinfandel vines planted by Jessie in the 1889 are still producing. The winery remains as the ranch was in the 1800’s and is still a family operation. Some of the Zinfandel vineyards have been named after the family-owned horses that roam the ranch pastures, including The Fancy Quest, West Wind, and Royal Tee. If ever in Lodi, visit the winery during one of their “Groovin’ in the Grove” summer concerts.
The Earth, Zin & Fire Old Vine Zinfandel (formerly Vintner’s Choice) is your stairway to heaven with a concert ticket as the label. These California old vines have been growing in Lodi for over 64 years. The West Wind Old Vine Zinfandel is specially selected from the World War II era vineyard blocks. Jessie’s Grove has deemed it the “Guinness® of Zins.”
